Modify formatting within Statement of Account’s template

QUESTION: I would like to modify the formatting within the Statement of Account’s template to make the “Total Balance: 13081.45” to “Total Balance: $13,081.45”?  How to change the format of the total balance to make it bold and include the value with “$” and “,”?

RESPONSE: You could wrap the line in bold tags <b></b> and add the dollar symbol, &#36.

<p><b>Total Balance: &#36&lt;&lt;TotalBalance&gt;&gt;</b></p>

But unfortunately it won't be possible to add commas to the amount. The variable takes its value directly from the database where values are not formatted with separators.
