Change of disbursement code on numerous unbilled disbursement entries - Error - Cannot have multiple selection for this function

QUESTION: I have many (over 1,300) line items and need to change all the disbursement codes. I can do the change one at a time, but when I highlight them all and hit properties, I get this error: “Cannot have multiple selection for this function.”

RESPONSE: To resolve your issue, export the list of disbursements to excel using the print-list-view to excel option, enter a one negative disbursement entry using the same disbursement code listed to offset the value of the multiple records you want to replace, create the a positive one with the same amount and correct code and associate the excel list of disbursement entries for the single value to the document link tab in disbursement entry properties of both the negative and positive entries to support the value if needed.

The reason why you cannot multiple select is because there is no right-click operation that would work – for example access to one single properties form representing the full selection to make a single code change. The transfer program does allow the transfer of time from one member to the other as this is sometimes a common error. Due to the GL operations related to disbursements the same option is not offered for disbursements.
