User does not have security 751 - Unclear if this is why user not able to "post" time entries

QUESTION: We have a user who when trying to post time entries, an error occurs with security number “751”, however she has access to 751 and has since she started last week. Please advise why the user cannot post time entries.

RESPONSE: The example shows that this user has security has been granted security 117  to reverse posted time entries. This is over and above the security of her security group. However, based on the content of your email it appears that the user needs security 751 to post a time entry. Without the full screenshot of what the user wants to do and the security message, it appears that the user needs security 751 to complete the transaction.

The checkmark you have placed is only for security 117 t allow time entry reversals. The label of security 117 references the other related securities 751-time entry prior month, and 771-time entry prior year. 751 and 771 are their own security, but they have context when completing a reversal because a reversal involves the creation of the offsetting time entry.

As a first step, confirm if the security group he or she belongs to has security 751. If not, grant it at the security group level or to the user specifically (similar to how you granted 117).

We also wanted to highlight that security 117 is subject to other securities. For example, if the user does not have security to record time in a closed fiscal year, but has security to reverse a time entry, if the time entry being reversed has a transaction date in a closed fiscal year, he or she will not be able to conclude the reversal because the reversal involves the creation of a negative entry with a transaction date in a closed fiscal year. Yet with security 117, he or she will be able to conclude reversals in an open fiscal year.
