QUESTION: I’m comparing the Member Activity Report to the time entries recorded for a specific member, and it appears that the report is not capturing the hours entered for December.
When comparing the reports, the YTD chargeable hours for this member in the Activity Report display one total, while the Hours Worked Report reflects a different amount. Could you clarify why there is a discrepancy between the two reports?
RESPONSE:
When comparing Member Activity reports with regular reports, it’s important to exercise caution. Member Activity reports are based on an overnight calculation process. This means that the data reflected in these reports is always as of the previous night. On the other hand, regular reports provide real-time data, i.e., as of the exact time the report is run.
For this reason, we recommend reconciling these two types of reports either early in the morning, to ensure data consistency, or on an independent restored database—such as your AcuminTraining environment—where no new activities are being logged.
For example, discrepancies between the two types of reports can occur when time entries are created and posted after the overnight calculation process. In such cases, these entries would be included in the Hours Worked Report but not yet reflected in the Member Activity Report.
