Hours Worked by Matter by Month Report vs. Member Activity Report - Hours Billed Discrepancy / Do not Balance

QUESTION: I am running the Hours Worked by Matter by Month Report looking for the Chargeable Hours Billed figures.  I am trying to match this figure up with the Member Activity report.  I have come across 2 discrepancies for different members.  All other timekeepers searched had matching figures.  Is someone able to tell me what is causing these issues?

RESPONSE: These two reports have not been designed to match.

Hours Billed displayed on Hours Worked by Matter by Month Report includes hours billed on invoices in the selected period and not cancelled.

Member Activity Report displays activity happening in the selected period. It will consider invoices cancelled in the period but posted before, or invoices posted in the period but cancelled after, the selected period.

In other word, if your selected period is from January 1st to December 31st, Hours Worked Report will only deal with invoices posted during that period excluding those cancelled. Member Activity will include activity during the period. It will include invoices cancelled during the period even if posted before the period and invoices cancelled after the period.
