QUESTION: I need to run a report where I can see who the top 20 clients were by cash receipts. I can run it by top billed, but not cash in. All the cash receipt reports seem to run by invoice, which would be great if we only invoiced once a year.
The cash on that report is related to the period's billings, so the number will not equal the same as the cash receipts for the same period.
I would like to run a cash receipts report by client not by member and not by invoice.
RESPONSE: Many clients export to excel the fees billed, credited, collected and written off report to quickly and easily access these key measures under different perspectives. In this case, we would recommend that the report be executed grouped by client only, so once exported to excel you could re-order the results by Fees Collected in descending order facilitating the analysis you are looking to complete.
The fees collected and fees written-off measures on this report are not related to the invoices included in fee billed measure. The fees collected represents all the receipts that meets the date criteria (the cash received for the period) They are independent of the fee billed measures.
The lowest level of detail for this report is the matter, therefore if executed at its lowest level of details, it will show by matter and not by invoice.
To run the report by client only - not by member or other grouping - remove all the default grouping options (checkmarks) on the details tab.
For a more of term solution, a subscription to Acumin.nexus BI database would also provide access to data and metrics for customized reporting.
