QUESTION: How to export to excel so my data is format free?
RESPONSE: Strategically speaking - out-of-the-box reports, are primarily designed for use in report format – print or PDF. The ability to export to excel is a secondary function provided by the run time version of Crystal Reports – the main report writer for Acumin’s out-of-the-box reports – which is available from the print preview format. The export to excel functionality offered by Crystal Reports, includes a variety of options for users to leverage, and arrive to best outcomes for their process, however, the “Data Only” option is favoured to avoid groupings and formats which may be unnecessary for the data analysis required. It is also possible to export any list view result using the Print List View to excel option, and/or the export direct to excel options for client-matter selected information, current AR, or GL details. The direct export to excel is only available in version 2.0.
Please note that we prioritize our development decisions in context of multiple factors for a best outcome, therefore, it is possible that work on out-of-the-box reports or related functionality may result in changes which may compromise pre-set export to excel in-house processes. When this occurs, these pre-set processes, steps and macros will need to be modified to align with the new results.
Alternatively, business analysts can work with Acumin.nexus, which is designed as a data source to be used with tools like excel, power BI, etc. for business analysts to fulfill customized analysis or reporting objectives without the limitations of the crystal report export tool.
