Report or Print List View that Lists Previous Matter Number

QUESTION: Is there any report that lists the previous matter number? I know we can search by Previous Matter Number in the Matter Search but is there on output that would actually list the previous matter number?

We recently brought on a group of attorneys from another law firm and we need to be able to view which matters have the previous matter number from their prior firm listed in the Previous Number field of the matter properties.

We would also like to know if there is a way to do a database update to add the previous matter number from the old firm if we provided it in excel. Many were not actually added when the files were opened so now we need to go back and add them for many of the matters.

RESPONSE: We do not have a report or search result that shows the previous matter number (or the absence of one), however Acumin.ew does.

Acumin.ew is the SQL view that the firm would use to open or update matters in your document management system. The SQL view has the previous client and matter numbers to ensure we capture old alphanumeric numbers permitted by source applications during a conversion. In this case the previous matter number field is used to connect to the document management system so that there is no break in logic with the converted alphanumeric client and/or matter numbers already in the document management system.

Acumin.ew can be queried by your IT team to obtain a list of matters opened with a date > than ???? that do not have an old file number. You can ask that the list be generated in Excel. 

It is also possible for our development team to update Acumin with old file numbers. Typically, this type of update is chargeable with a minimum charge of 2 hours at standard rates.
