Inquiry on setting the same person as a contact with multiple addresses within Acumin

QUESTION: We have noticed some issues with addresses and contacts in Acumin that we need some clarification on.

We have some individuals in our system who require different addresses. When we try to change an address we get the following confirmation message “All of the contact properties forms found within the structure of this client (matters and/or invoices) with the same unique contact id (same person and address combination) will be updated to reflect the modification made within”.

The only “work around” we’ve been able to come up with is by entering the same individual multiple times with different addresses…

RESPONSE: Contacts are the combination of a person and an address. When you want to have the same person associated to another address, you are creating a new contact. Right click to start a new contact properties form. Look for the person to be selected as the contact (do not create a new one). Once the person is selected, look for the second address. If you do not find it create it.

The result is two contact properties forms for the same person. For example, if the person set as  contact is John Smith, the first contact properties will have John Smith associated to the address 290 Glenview Avenue and the second contact properties will have the same John Smith associated to the address 110 McGill Avenue. Two different unique contact properties using the same person, because although it is the same John Smith the addresses are different. When you open the properties of the first John Smith and change its address the contact properties will be updated to reflect the change – thus the message.
