Functional Licensing Options - Working with matter-level shareable roles (split responsibility)

QUESTION:

When we bill, we would like the credit for the fees split evenly between two lawyers.

In Acumin, I understood that we can only make one lawyer the responsible lawyer.

How can you split Responsible lawyer credit between two lawyers?

RESPONSE: The standard client and matter level roles are not shareable; however, you can expand your functional licensing to include the shareable role engine which includes one shareable role - your choice - client or matter level. Once you have this license, you can purchase access to additional roles when and if needed to a maximum of two shareable roles at the client level and two shareable roles at the matter level.

From a practical perspective, if you were to expand your functional license to include the shareable role engine with a matter level shareable role, when opening a new matter, the system can capture the responsible matter lawyer to have 100% Shared Responsibility as a default, so it would only need to be shared (split) when needed – a process that can be completed within the wizard or afterwards in matter properties.

As with team roles, shareable roles have customizable labels. The role can be shared across multiple members if the total adds to 100%. As part of the deployment, we populate the role with a conversion rule. For example, make the shareable role equal to  the matter responsible member 100% . Role changes are historical (effective date) and it is a reporting dimension used across multiple reports.
