Options to increase the performance of the Search Tool in your environment

  1. Use of the “Quick Person Search” option:

Users can apply the “Quick person search” option for a very performant process. This search alternative is applied exclusively on the “Person and Client Description /Info” target (meaning that only person and client properties are searched), and limits the selection of conflicting search tool options. When selected, relationships for the persons listed will be excluded from the results – information will therefore be consolidated into one row.

Here is an example:

  • Searched for John Smith: Here is the results when the “Quick person search” option is disabled (OFF);

  • Same search results when the Quick person search option is enabled (ON);

The firm may opt to enable by default this option in the environment. When the Search Tool will launch, the “Quick person search” option will already be selected by default. If the user wants to search further, he can then unclick the option and search in the other targets

  1. Use of the “Person’s known relationships” option:

This search alternative works in conjunction with the “Person with known relationship” flag found in person properties. When enabled, persons with the flag on who meet the search criteria will still list in the results, however, their relationships will not be listed. This significantly reduces unnecessary information for the reader and facilitates the decision making process. This option is favored within organizations working with large clients (for example, insurance companies) and large volumes of returning business (many insurance files dealing with the same insurance adjustors). Incompatible options are disabled when this option is used. Note that this option is also available in the Potential Conflicts Form to reduce the volume of the report.

In reality, it is similar has using the “Quick Person Search” option but for specific persons (client , person, vendor , member). For example, for insurance company, the same adjuster can be attached to many files so when opening a new file where this adjuster is selected as a contact, the search will list all the file where this adjuster was found. By selecting the “Person’s known relationship” option in the Adjuster person properties, the adjuster will appear only on one line with the text: “Having known relationships, which are therefore not listed.

Here is an example:

The billing contact Linda Smith is selected in multiple files under client #35490.

  • When we search for “Linda Smith” in the Serach tool, we get this results:

  • If we enabled the option has Known relationship in the Person Properties of “Linda Smith” and

  • In the Search Tool, enable the “Exclude relationship for persons with known relationships: option and search for Linda Smith

  • The Result will show only on one line with the text: “Having known relationships, which are therefore not listed. “ The user can see those relationship on demand by selecting the option Person Related-to Tab option in the contextual menu.

When the Search Tool will launch, the ““Exclude relationship for persons with known relationships” option will already be selected by default. If the user wants to search further, he can then unclick the option to see all results.
