QUESTION: Is there a way to allow us to create a new client in Acumin with an email address ONLY – and NOT require a physical address?
Currently it appears creation of a new client can only proceed when you enter a physical mailing address.
RESPONSE: The postal address is mandatory at a core functional level and there is no option to disable it. On the expectation that this is not a regular occurrence, to bypass this requirement, it is possible to create a "No Postal Address" address with the main firm as the owner of the address and use it with clients that do not provide an address. If moving forward clients will only be required to provide an email address - the postal address being the exception - it would be better to create a no address with the name of the client in the address header followed by "No Address", so each client owns it.
From a strategic perspective, we are assessing the cost-benefit of changing the requirement for a postal address to an OR condition between the postal or email address. Part of the analysis on prioritizing this type of enhancement is based on our understanding of the general marketplace. The postal address seems to be a requirement over the email address, but we are interested to know based on your question if your firm is moving away from that. Can you confirm if the firm is moving towards only requiring a postal address when an email address is not available?
