Limitations to Activating Closed or Inactive Matters

QUESTION: Can closed or inactivate matters be activated and are there any limitations?

RESPONSE: Once a matter is inactivated or closed due to an automated or manual process, and/or set to rejected or released, the authorized user can change the status back to active, a process that will trigger the conflict assessment process, in case there are new potential conflicts to consider by reopening the matter. One activated, the user can take any regularly authorized actions, for example entering new time, creating a new invoice, or cancelling AR Write-offs to apply unexpected receipts. The right click contextual menu offers post close actions. Once executed, these are logged.

NOTE: If the AR Write cannot be cancelled, it would be because it was converted from the previous software. If this is the situation and you would like assistance in developing the right strategy to address this type of scenario within your organization, so it aligns with fee and cash receipt allocation requirements, please let us know and we will escalate to secure a working consultative session with our SME.
