Questions for Rate Changes

QUESTIONS:

Why is the rate applied to time entries after a rate change made is not what as expected?

If there are two rates for the same member for the same period in the rate history table, which one takes precedence?

What happens to my current rate if I need to change a rate for a period in the past without affecting the current one?

RESPONSE: Rates are used in context of the newest date a rate change is made in combination with the rate’s effective date. The rate history presents rate changes in descending order by creation date (date the rate was changed), so that the newest rate (newest addition) takes precedence for the period affected.

In the example that follows, the newest record on the rate change history table shows that on May 17th, Tammy Archer changed the rate effective January 2nd, therefore any new entries created after May 17th, with a transaction date of January 2nd forward will have this rate of 315.00. This means that the rate of 345.00 effective April 1st will no longer be considered, unless the user makes another rate change on May 17th forward from 315.00 to 345.00 effective April 1st
