Client level discount does not auto apply

QUESTION: The discount is set at the client level, but it appears the discount doesn’t auto apply and users have to click on the blue gear. Is there a setting we can implement so users do not have to click on the gear?

RESPONSE: This is normal behaviour. There is a system setting to auto-apply the discount on invoice creation, but the client should know the impact of their selection. We added this control to mitigate issues when changes to entry content in the billing section of the entries tab and/or use paragraph substitution options when there was an applied discount. With this change most firms do not use this setting as this provide greater user flexibility when preparing an invoice. If they auto-apply the  discount they will need to undo to make the changes, therefore to decide the position of the setting, the firm needs to determine the most often situation.
