Invoice layout options for disbursement only invoices

QUESTION: Does Acumin have an invoice template for disbursements only?

Rather than the wording “For professional services rendered …” it should say something like “For out-of-pocket expenses incurred on your behalf during the period ending [DATE]:”.

There should be a “No Fee” invoice format for a disbursements only account.  That format doesn’t appear to be on the list of formats available to us in Acumin.

RESPONSE: If it is a disbursement only invoice any format will work because there are no fees or time entries to present, however you may not like the "FOR PROFESSIONAL FEES...". invoice title. You can remove this title from the invoice title field in the invoice properties form details tab and replace with something more relevant like "FOR DISBURSEMENTS......" instead.

For a more permanent solution, many firms map the Fee Only invoice layout to a second "Properties Bill Format" which has the same identical content as the FEE one except for the invoice title so it reads "FOR DISBURSEMENTS......" instead of "FOR PROFESSIONAL FEES...". The only requirement is that you give it a unique code (i.e., DISB).

To create a new "Properties Bill Format",  an authorized user can right-click select New from the "Show Bill Format" List and complete the required fields as needed. You can use the screenshots of the Properties Bill Format of the one you want to create a second option for as a guide, so you select the right layout.

This approach can be used as needed to not have to modify invoice titles in invoice properties with a regularly recurring text.
